  2. 2.Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz by using a 12" twisted pair terminated with a 0.1uf capacitor.
  3. 3.Test condition: 48VDC input.
  4. 4.Output voltage will always step down by 3 volts from input DC voltage.
  5. 5.The output of LDD-H should not be connected to the input of the same unit or output from other sources.

Can I use the LDD-300HW for low-current LED downlights?

Yes, if the downlight requires a constant current driver at 300mA and the LED load stays within the 2-52V CC range. As the lowest-current model of the LDD-H series, it is aimed at lower-current constant current fixtures. It is not a replacement for a constant voltage LED driver.

Is the LDD-300HW suitable for long-series small LED arrays?

It can be, because the constant current range extends up to 52V while maintaining a 300mA output. That wide CC range makes it useful for low-current arrays with a higher total forward voltage, as long as the input is about 3V above the string voltage. The exact number of LEDs depends on the forward voltage of each LED.

Can this driver work for signage modules that need low current but higher LED string voltage?

Yes, when the signage module assembly is designed for 300mA constant current and the total LED load remains between 2V and 52V. Its fully encapsulated IP67 construction supports harsher environments. It should only be used with constant current modules, not constant voltage signage systems.

How do I determine compatibility for the LDD-300HW?

Your LED load must be specified for 300mA constant current, with a total forward-voltage requirement inside the 2-52V CC range. The number of LEDs depends on each LED's forward voltage, so this driver cannot be matched by LED count alone. Because it is a step-down design, the input source must also stay within the listed 9-56VDC range.

How does the LDD-300HW compare with other 300mA LDD models?

At 300mA, the LDD-300H, LDD-300HS, and LDD-300HW all use a 2-52V constant current range. The H (pin) and HW (wire) are epoxy-encapsulated to IP67 with up to 97% efficiency, while the HS is a non-potted SMD version with up to 96%. The key difference is the package style, with the HW version using wire leads.

Is the LDD-300HW appropriate for outdoor or wide-temperature use?

Yes, it is fully encapsulated to IP67 and operates from -40°C to +85°C (refer to the derating curve). Those specs make it suitable for demanding environmental conditions when the rest of the assembly is built to the same standard. The compact 31.8 × 20.3 × 12.2 mm body can also help in sealed fixtures.
