Test conditions and notes6
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated load and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1μF & 47μF parallel capacitor.
- 3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 4. The power supply is considered a component which will be installed into a final equipment. All the EMC tests are been executed by mounting the unit on a 360mm*360mm metal plate with 1mm of thickness. The final equipment must be re-confirmed that it still meets EMC directives. For guidance on how to perform these EMC tests, please refer to “EMI testing of component power supplies.” (as available on https://www.meanwell.com//Upload/PDF/EMI_statement_en.pdf )
- 5. Heat Sink HS1,HS2,HS3 can not be shorted.
- 6. The ambient temperature derating of 3.5℃/1000m with fanless models and of 5℃/1000m with fan models for operating altitude higher than 2000m(6500ft).

FAQ
Can I use the PD-25B for a 5V embedded controller or industrial logic circuit?
Yes, this unit provides 5V constant voltage at 1.2A rated (2A max) plus a 24V 0.8A output, and is appropriate for embedded controllers, logic boards, or industrial electronics. Its total output power is 25.2W, so the connected loads need to stay within that limit.
Is the PD-25B suitable for powering a small 5V communication or monitoring module?
It can be a fit for compact 5V communication, monitoring, or interface modules that require regulated constant voltage. The 5V output is rated 1.2A, alongside a 24V 0.8A output, which is aimed at lighter-duty loads.
Can the PD-25B be used in a compact automation enclosure for low-power 5V electronics?
Yes, for low-power 5V electronics in automation equipment, the PD-25B can be used if the 5V load does not exceed 1.2A rated. It also accepts a wide 85-264VAC input range, which supports use with common AC supply conditions.
Is the PD-25B rated for exposed outdoor conditions?
The specs show an operating temperature range of -10°C to +60°C with derating per the derating curve, but no IP rating is listed. Without a stated IP rating, it is better treated as a power supply for indoor or protected installations.
How does the PD-25B compare with nearby PD series options?
The PD-25B is rated at 25.2W with 5V 1.2A and 24V 0.8A. The other PD-25 series models are PD-25A at 24.9W, 5V 2.1A/12V 1.2A; PD-2505 at 25W, 5V/-5V 2.5A each; PD-2512 at 24W, 12V/-12V 1A each; and PD-2515 at 24W, 15V/-15V 0.8A each.
