LDC-55DA is the model of this series: rated power 55W, typical efficiency 90%(230VAC@Full load).
LDC-55 series is a 55W AC/DC LED driver featuring the Constant Power mode output. LDC-55 operates from 180~295VAC and output current can be adjust between 500mA to 1600mA. Thanks to the efficiency up to 90%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate -25℃~+80℃ case temperature under free air convection.LDC-55 is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Test conditions and notes10
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Please refer to " OUTPUT CURRENT SETTING ".
- 3. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
- 4. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the power supply may lead to increase of the set up time.
- 5. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. - 6. The DA type power supply is less efficient than the typical efficiency in specification by 2%.
- 7. This series meets the typical life expectancy of >50000 hours of operation when Tcase, particularly tc point (or TMP, per DLC), is about 70℃ or less.

Can I use the LDC-55DA to drive LED downlights that need a constant current driver?
Yes, if the downlight is designed for constant current operation and its LED load falls within the 27-56V constant current output range. This model is a 55W constant power mode driver with an output current adjustable from 500 to 1600mA (1050mA default), so it is intended for LED engines that require current regulation rather than constant voltage.
Is the LDC-55DA suitable for slim linear fixtures or narrow LED light boxes?
It can be a good fit where a constant current LED array is used and the load stays within 27-56V at up to 55W. Its 320.0 × 30.0 × 21.0 mm housing and 30mm width make it suited to narrow fixture spaces where a linear driver format is preferred.
Can this driver power signage modules or small LED arrays?
It can power signage modules or small LED arrays only when they are constant current assemblies that operate within the 27-56V CC range. It is not a constant voltage driver, so it should not be used as a substitute for 12V or 24V constant voltage signage power supplies.
How do I know if my LED load is compatible with the LDC-55DA?
Match the LED module's required current to the 500-1600mA setting range (1050mA default, set by a resistor on IADJ) and its total forward voltage to the 27-56V range. The number of LEDs depends on the forward voltage of each LED in the array, so compatibility should be checked by total forward voltage rather than by a fixed LED count.
How does the LDC-55DA compare with other Mean Well LDC series linear drivers?
Within the LDC-55 series, the LDC-55, LDC-55B and LDC-55DA share the same 55W rating, 500-1600mA adjustable output and 27-56V constant current range. The LDC-55DA adds a DALI interface (IEC62386-101, 102, 207) with push dimming, the LDC-55B offers 3-in-1 dimming (0-10VDC, 10V PWM or resistance), the standard LDC-55 has no dimming input, and the DA type is about 2% less efficient than the typical 90%.
