Overview

HLG-120H-30A is the 30V output model of this series: rated current 4A, rated power 120W, typical efficiency 93%. Type A: Io and Vo adjustable through built-in potentiometer (IP65).

HLG-120H series is a 120W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-120H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 93.5%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +80℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HLG-120H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

  1. 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
  2. 2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
  3. 3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.

Can I use the HLG-120H-30A for 30V LED strip installations under an awning or canopy?

Yes. The HLG-120H-30A delivers 30V at up to 4A (120W) with an IP65 water-resistant rating, which handles splashing water and dust in sheltered outdoor locations such as awnings, canopies, and covered walkways. For fully exposed rain installations, the IP67-rated HLG-120H-30 would be more appropriate.

Is the adjustable output on the HLG-120H-30A helpful for matching different 30V LED loads?

Yes. The built-in potentiometers let you trim the output voltage within 27-33V and the output current within 2-4A to match the specific requirements of your 30V LED load, giving you flexibility to lower the drive level for loads that operate best below full output.

Can the HLG-120H-30A power 30V LED modules for illuminated menu boards or light boxes?

Yes. At 120W and 30V output, it can drive a sizeable array of 30V LED modules for indoor or sheltered light boxes and menu boards. The adjustable output lets you dial in the precise voltage needed, and the wide 90-305VAC input accommodates most commercial mains voltages.

How many meters of 30V LED strip can the HLG-120H-30A handle?

Divide 120W by your strip's power consumption per meter. For a strip rated at 12W/m, that allows up to 10 meters (120W / 12W per meter = 10m). For a strip at 20W/m, the limit is 6 meters. Check your strip's rated power per meter and keep total load at or below 120W.

Is the HLG-120H-30A suitable for an indoor warehouse or garage with occasional moisture?

Yes. The IP65 rating protects against low-pressure water jets from any direction and complete dust ingress, making it well suited for warehouses, garages, and damp indoor environments. For locations with standing water or full rain exposure, the IP67-rated HLG-120H-30 is a better choice.
