Overview

HLG-120H-20A is the 20V output model of this series: rated current 6A, rated power 120W, typical efficiency 93%. Type A: Io and Vo adjustable through built-in potentiometer (IP65).

HLG-120H series is a 120W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-120H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 93.5%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +80℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HLG-120H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

  2. 2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
  3. 3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.

Can I use the HLG-120H-20A for 20V LED strip lighting where I need to fine-tune brightness?

Yes. The HLG-120H-20A outputs 20V at up to 6A (120W) with a built-in potentiometer that lets you adjust the output voltage and current. This is useful when your 20V LED strips need a slightly lower drive level for optimal brightness or heat management. Note that it is rated IP65, so it suits sheltered outdoor or indoor use.

Is the HLG-120H-20A a good fit for adjustable 20V LED signage drivers?

Yes. The adjustable output lets you match the driver to specific 20V LED sign modules that may need current tuning, and 120W is sufficient for small to medium sign arrays. The IP65 rating works well when the driver is housed inside a weatherproof sign cabinet or enclosure.

Can I use the HLG-120H-20A to power 20V LED linear fixtures in a commercial space?

It is a suitable choice for indoor commercial environments such as offices, retail, or hospitality lighting using 20V LED linear fixtures. The adjustable output lets you fine-tune the constant-current drive between 3A and 6A, across a 10-20V constant-current region. Total combined fixture load must not exceed 120W.

How many meters of 20V LED strip can the HLG-120H-20A power?

The HLG-120H-20A provides 120W at 20V. Divide 120W by your strip's rated wattage per meter. For a strip rated at 10W/m, that allows up to 12 meters (120W / 10W per meter = 12m). Always check your strip's rated power per meter and keep total load at or below 120W.

Is the HLG-120H-20A suitable for exposed outdoor mounting?

The HLG-120H-20A is rated IP65, which protects against dust and low-pressure water jets but not submersion. It works well in sheltered outdoor locations under canopies, inside enclosures, or under eaves. For fully exposed outdoor sites with standing water or heavy rain risk, the IP67-rated HLG-120H-20 or HLG-120H-20B is a better choice.

What does the 'A' suffix mean on the HLG-120H-20A compared to the base HLG-120H-20?

The 'A' suffix indicates the model includes a built-in potentiometer for adjusting output voltage and current. The base HLG-120H-20 has fixed output. The A variant carries an IP65 water-resistant rating instead of the base model's IP67 waterproof rating. Both deliver the same 120W, 20V, 6A output at their default settings.
