Test conditions and notes8
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated load and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
- 3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 4. TSW1: Detect on heatsink of power transistor. TSW2: Detect on heatsink of output diode.
- 5. 33% Duty cycle maximum within every 30 minute. Average output power should not exceed the rated power.
- 6. Derating may be needed under low input voltages. Please check the derating curve for more details.
- 7. The power supply is considered a component which will be installed into a final equipment. All the EMC tests are been executed by mounting the unit on a 360mm*360mm metal plate with 1mm of thickness. The final equipment must be re-confirmed that it still meets EMC directives. For guidance on how to perform these EMC tests, please refer to “EMI testing of component power supplies.” (as available on http://www.meanwell.com)
- 8. The ambient temperature derating of 3.5℃/1000m with fanless models and of 5℃/1000m with fan models for operating altitude higher than 2000m(6500ft).

FAQ
Can I use the SP-480-3.3 for 3.3V digital or embedded systems that need very high current?
Yes, this model is rated for a 3.3V single output at up to 280.5W and 85A. It is intended for applications that need a large 3.3V DC power rail rather than higher-voltage outputs.
Is the SP-480-3.3 suitable for industrial computing or logic-heavy equipment with a 3.3V bus?
It can support 3.3V equipment with high current demand because it provides up to 85A. The unit is designed for single-output 3.3V use where total power reaches 280.5W.
Can this power supply support low-voltage electronics in automation or embedded hardware racks?
Yes, if the hardware is built for 3.3V DC, this supply provides up to 280.5W and 85A from one output. That makes it relevant for dense low-voltage electronic loads that need substantial current.
What temperature and location conditions are listed for the SP-480-3.3?
The published operating temperature range is -20°C to +60°C. No IP rating appears in the provided specs, so the data does not define weather-resistant or outdoor use.
How does the SP-480-3.3 compare with the other SP-480 versions?
The SP-480-3.3 is the 3.3V version of the family and is rated at 280.5W and 85A. Other listed SP-480 models are SP-480-12 at 480W, 12V, 40A; SP-480-15 at 480W, 15V, 32A; SP-480-24 at 480W, 24V, 20A; SP-480-48 at 480W, 48V, 10A; and SP-480-5 at 425W.
