Overview
HLG-80H-48B is the 48V output model of this series: rated current 1.7A, rated power 81.6W, typical efficiency 91%.
HLG-80H series is a 80W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-80H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 91%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +80℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67/IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HLG-80H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Test conditions and notes14
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
- 3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 4. Please refer to "DRIVING METHODS OF LED MODULE".
- 5. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
- 6. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.

Can I use the HLG-80H-48B to power 48V LED strip lighting outdoors?
Yes. The HLG-80H-48B outputs 48V at up to 1.7A (80W) and carries an IP67 rating, making it suitable for outdoor 48V LED strip runs exposed to rain or snow. Its metal housing and -40°C to +80°C case temperature (Tcase) range suit harsh weather conditions.
Is the HLG-80H-48B suitable for dimmable outdoor 48V LED signage?
Yes. The B suffix indicates a built-in 3-in-1 dimming interface (1-10V, PWM or resistance), so you can control brightness on outdoor 48V channel letters or light boxes remotely. Its IP67 rating allows mounting in exposed outdoor locations.
Can I use the HLG-80H-48B for 48V architectural facade lighting?
Yes. At 80W and 48V with IP67 waterproof protection, the HLG-80H-48B is well suited for exterior facade wash lights and accent lighting. The dimming input allows scene control, and the wide 90-305VAC input handles varying mains voltages found in commercial building installations.
How many meters of 48V LED strip can the HLG-80H-48B drive?
That depends on the strip's power consumption per meter. The HLG-80H-48B supplies up to 80W at 48V. If your strip draws 10W/m, you could run up to 8 meters (80W / 10W per meter = 8m). Always check your strip's rated power per meter and keep total load at or below 80W.
Can the HLG-80H-48B be installed in a location that floods or gets submerged temporarily?
The HLG-80H-48B is IP67 rated, but the sheet does not specify a submersion depth or duration, so flooding or temporary submersion is not a specified condition. Avoid below-grade vaults where water can collect, and follow the waterproof installation cautions in MEAN WELL's user manual.
Will the HLG-80H-48B operate reliably in extreme cold or heat?
Yes, within its ratings. Its case temperature (Tcase) range is -40°C to +80°C, and the output load must be derated at higher ambient temperatures per the sheet's load vs temperature curve. It is a fanless, convection-cooled design, so in enclosed spaces ensure adequate ventilation to keep the case below the rated maximum.
