HLG-80H-12B is the 12V output model of this series: rated current 5A, rated power 60W, typical efficiency 88%.

HLG-80H series is a 80W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-80H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 91%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +80℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67/IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HLG-80H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Test conditions and notes14

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.

5. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.

Can I use the HLG-80H-12B for outdoor dimmable 12V LED landscape path lighting?

Yes. The HLG-80H-12B outputs 60W at 12V with a 3-in-1 dimming input (1-10V, PWM or resistance), and its IP67 rating allows installation in direct rain or garden beds. You can dim the path lights during late-night hours to save energy.

Is the HLG-80H-12B suitable for powering 12V LED strip in a dimmable outdoor signage application?

Yes. At 60W and 12V, it can drive 12V LED modules in small outdoor signs. The IP67 rating handles rain and moisture exposure, while the dimming input lets you lower sign brightness at night to reduce light pollution or comply with local dimming ordinances.

Can I run dimmable 12V LED tape under a dock or boat canopy with the HLG-80H-12B?

Yes, under a sheltered dock or canopy. The HLG-80H-12B is IP67 rated, and with 60W at 12V and a dimming input, you can set accent or task lighting levels as needed. The sheet gives no salt-spray rating, so keep it out of direct spray, and ensure total LED load stays within 60W.

How many meters of 12V LED strip can the HLG-80H-12B power?

Divide the 60W maximum by your strip's power draw per meter. A strip rated at 9.6W/m allows about 6.2 meters (60W / 9.6W per meter). A 14.4W/m strip allows about 4.1 meters. Always check your strip's rated power per meter and keep total load at or below 60W.

Can the HLG-80H-12B withstand installation in a frequently flooded outdoor electrical box?

Frequent flooding is not a specified condition. The HLG-80H-12B is IP67 rated, but the sheet gives no submersion depth or duration. For locations that flood repeatedly, elevate the mounting point above the water level and follow the waterproof installation cautions in MEAN WELL's user manual.
