HLG-40H-24B is the 24V output model of this series: rated current 1.67A, rated power 40.08W, typical efficiency 88%. Type B: 3 in 1 dimming function (1~10VDC, 10V PWM signal and resistance) (IP67).

HLG-40H series is a 40W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-40H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 89.5%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40 ~ +80 case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HLG-40H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Test conditions and notes13

2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.

Can I use the HLG-40H-24B to power 24V LED strip lighting outdoors?

Yes. The HLG-40H-24B outputs 24V at up to 1.67A (40W) and carries an IP67 waterproof rating, so it can be mounted in locations exposed to rain, snow, or temporary water pooling. Its metal casing and -40°C to +80°C case temperature (Tcase) working range handle harsh outdoor conditions year-round.

Is the HLG-40H-24B suitable for dimmable 24V landscape lighting?

It depends on your strip's power consumption per meter. The HLG-40H-24B provides up to 40W at 24V. For a strip rated at 10W/m, you could run 4 meters (40W / 10W per meter = 4m). For a 5W/m strip, up to 8 meters. Always check your strip's rated power per meter and stay within 40W total.

Can the HLG-40H-24B handle being installed in a wet underground junction box?

IP67 means the enclosure can withstand temporary immersion in water up to 1 meter deep, so it suits wet junction boxes where water may collect for short periods. It is not rated for continuous submersion, so avoid locations with prolonged standing water. The -40°C to +80°C case temperature (Tcase) range also covers extreme temperature environments.
