Overview
HLG-240H-48AB is the 48V output model of this series: rated current 5A, rated power 240W, typical efficiency 93%.
HLG-240H series is a 240W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-240H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 93.5%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +90℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67/IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HLG-240H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Test conditions and notes14
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
- 3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 4. Please refer to "DRIVING METHODS OF LED MODULE".
- 5. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
- 6. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
- 7. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. Can I use the HLG-240H-48AB to power 48V LED strip lighting in a commercial canopy or covered walkway?
Yes. The HLG-240H-48AB provides 240W at 48V and is IP65 water-resistant, which protects against dust and low-pressure water jets. It is well suited for covered outdoor areas such as canopies, walkways, and semi-enclosed signage enclosures where 48V LED strips are used. The built-in dimming input also lets you adjust brightness on-site.
Is the HLG-240H-48AB suitable for dimming 48V LED signage from a building management system?
Yes. The AB suffix indicates both adjustable output and a 1-10V/PWM dimming interface. You can pair with the HLG-240H-48AB to a BMS or lighting controller that outputs a 1-10V or PWM signal to dim the 48V LED signage remotely. The adjustable potentiometer also allows manual fine-tuning of voltage and current.
Can I power 48V LED high-bay fixtures with the HLG-240H-48AB in a warehouse?
Yes. At 240W and 48V with 5A output, the HLG-240H-48AB can drive 48V high-bay LED fixtures up to 240W total. The constant-current mode with a CC range of 24-48V accommodates LED modules with varying forward voltages. The dimming input allows integrating the driver into an occupancy-based lighting control scheme.
How many meters of 48V LED strip can the HLG-240H-48AB support?
That depends on the strip's rated power per meter. The HLG-240H-48AB supplies up to 240W at 48V. For example, if your 48V strip draws 14.4W per meter, you could run up to 240 / 14.4 = 16.6 meters. Always check your strip's rated power per meter and keep total wattage at or below 240W.
Can the HLG-240H-48AB be mounted in a damp location or semi-enclosed outdoor cabinet?
Yes. The IP65 rating protects against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction, making it suitable for damp locations, ventilated outdoor cabinets, and covered canopy installations. For direct rain exposure or standing water, consider the IP67-rated HLG-240H-48B instead.
What is the difference between the HLG-240H-48, 48A, 48AB, and 48B variants?
All four share 240W / 48V / 5A core specs. The base HLG-240H-48 has fixed output and IP67 waterproof rating. The -48A adds output voltage/current adjustment via potentiometer (IP65). The -48AB adds both adjustment and 1-10V/PWM dimming input (IP65). The -48B provides dimming input only and retains IP67 waterproof rating.
