HLG-240H series is a 240W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-240H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 93.5%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +90℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HLG-240H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Test conditions and notes14

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.

5. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
6. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.

Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. Can I use the HLG-240H-42AB to power and dim 42V LED panels in a commercial space?

Yes. The AB suffix provides both output voltage/current adjustment and dimming input (1-10V/PWM). At 240W and 42V, it can drive 42V LED panel arrays while accepting dimming commands from a commercial lighting controller or building management system.

Is the HLG-240H-42AB a good choice for dimmable 42V horticultural LED lighting?

Yes. The 240W output at 42V suits many quantum board and COB grow light setups. The built-in potentiometer lets you set the baseline drive level, and the 1-10V/PWM dimming input allows automated light cycle control via a grow room controller. Divide 240W by your strip's rated power per meter. A strip rated at 18W/m would allow about 13.3 meters (240W / 18W per meter = 13.33m). Always verify your strip's rated power per meter and keep the total load at or below 240W for reliable operation.

What are the differences between the HLG-240H-42, 42A, 42AB, and 42B variants?

All four share the same 240W / 42V / 5.72A core specs. The base HLG-240H-42 has fixed output and IP67 waterproof rating. The -42A adds output adjustment via potentiometer (IP65). The -42AB adds both adjustment and 1-10V/PWM dimming input (IP65). The -42B provides dimming input only and retains the IP67 waterproof rating.
