ELG-100-42B is the 42V output model of this series: rated current 2.28A, typical efficiency 90%.

ELG-100 series is a 100W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. ELG-100 operates from 100~360VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 24V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 91%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +90℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67/IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. ELG-100 is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system

Test conditions and notes13

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. Please refer to "DRIVING METHODS OF LED MODULE". For DA-Type, Constant Current region is 60%~100% of maximum voltage under rated power delivery.
3. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
4. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
5. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
6. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
7. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Can I use the ELG-100-42B with a PWM dimming signal from a lighting controller?

Yes. The ELG-100-42B supports 3-in-1 dimming: 0–10VDC analogue, 10V PWM signal (100Hz–3KHz), and resistance dimming. A 10V PWM input from a lighting controller will modulate the output current proportionally to the duty cycle, allowing dimming of 42V LED loads down to about 8%.

Is the ELG-100-42B waterproof enough for outdoor LED signage?

Yes. The ELG-100-42B carries an IP67 rating, making it sealed against dust and protected against temporary water immersion. This level of protection is appropriate for outdoor LED channel letter signs and lightboxes exposed to direct rain; follow the IP installation cautions in MEAN WELL's user manual.

Can I run 42V dimmable LED strips for landscape lighting with the ELG-100-42B?

Yes. The IP67 rating and -40°C to +90°C case temperature (Tcase) rating make the ELG-100-42B suitable for ground-mounted landscape lighting installations. The 3-in-1 dimming allows integration with landscape lighting controllers that output a 0–10V or PWM signal. At 95.76W maximum (70W on 100–180VAC input), it supports approximately 9.5 meters of 42V strip rated at 10W per meter—verify your strip’s rated power per meter.

How does the ELG-100-42B differ from the ELG-100-42 base model?

Both share the same 95.76W / 42V / 2.28A output and IP67 waterproof rating. The ELG-100-42B adds 3-in-1 dimming capability (0–10V, PWM, resistance) that the base ELG-100-42 lacks. Choose the base model for fixed-output applications; choose the ‘B’ when dimming control is required.

Can the ELG-100-42B be used for dimmable outdoor architectural facade lighting?

Yes. The combination of IP67 sealing, a -40°C to +90°C case temperature rating, and 3-in-1 dimming makes the ELG-100-42B practical for dimmable facade wash or grazing fixtures rated at 42V DC. The 95.76W output is sized for medium-scale facade lighting segments.
