Test conditions and notes10
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated load and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Peak current or peak power up to 3 seconds is provided.
- 3. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1μF & 47μF parallel capacitor.
- 4. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 5. Line regulation is measured from low line to high line at rated load.
- 6. Load regulation is measured from 0% to 100% rated load.
- 7. Length of set up time is measured at cold first start. Turning ON/OFF the power supply very quickly may lead to increase of the set up time.
- 8. Derating may be needed under low input voltages. Please check the derating curve for more details.
- 9. The power supply is considered as an independent unit, but the final equipment still need to re-confirm that the whole system complies with the EMC directives. For guidance on how to perform these EMC tests, please refer to “EMI testing of component power supplies.” (as available on https://www.meanwell.com//Upload/PDF/EMI_statement_en.pdf )
- 10. The ambient temperature derating of 3.5℃/1000m with fanless models and of 5℃/1000m with fan models for operating altitude higher than 2000m(6500ft).

FAQ
What are the main output ratings of the Mean Well ENP-240-12?
The ENP-240-12 is a 240W desktop power supply with a regulated 13.8V DC output and a rated current of 17.4A. It is designed for applications that need a higher-current 13.8V source in a compact external form factor.
Is the ENP-240-12 a good fit for 12V-class equipment?
This model outputs 13.8V DC, so it is typically considered for equipment designed to operate at or around that voltage. Buyers should confirm that their load accepts 13.8V input and does not exceed the unit's 17.4A rated current or 240W power limit.
What makes the ENP-240-12 different from a basic 12V power adapter?
Compared with a basic adapter, the ENP-240-12 provides a much higher 240W power rating, active PFC, and Energy Efficiency Level VI performance. It also includes industrial-style protections and 125% peak load capability (300W for up to 3 seconds) for short-duration demand above rated output.
Can this power supply handle demanding or variable loads?
Yes. The ENP-240-12 is rated for 240W continuous output and can support 125% peak load capability under the conditions specified by the manufacturer. Its overload behavior includes constant current limiting with auto-recovery after the peak condition is removed.
Is the ENP-240-12 suitable for harsh or wide-temperature environments?
This model has a specified operating temperature range of -30°C to +70°C, which supports use across a broad range of environments. Load derating applies at higher ambient temperatures per the derating curve, and humidity should stay within 20 to 95% RH non-condensing.
What safety, efficiency, and protection features does the ENP-240-12 include?
The ENP-240-12 is an Energy Efficiency Level VI power supply with no-load power consumption below 0.15W and 91% typical efficiency. It includes short circuit, overload, over-voltage, and over-temperature protection, and it is approved to IEC62368-1 and UL62368-1 safety standards.
