Test conditions and notes14
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. De-rating may be need under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
- 3. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12” twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uF & 47uF parallel capacitor.
- 4. Tolerance: includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 5. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
- 6. Flicker is measured at full load with the light source provided by MEAN WELL.
- 7. To fulfill requirement of the latest ErP regulation for lighting fixtures, this LED driver can only be used behind a switch without permanently connected to the mains.
- 8. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. (as available on https://www.meanwell.com//Upload/PDF/EMI_statement_en.pdf)
- 9. The ambient temperature de-rating of 3.5℃/1000m with fanless models and 5℃/1000m with fan models for operating altitude higher than 2000m(6500ft).
- 10. This series meets the typical life expectancy of >50,000 hours of operation when Tcase, particularly tc point (or TMP, per DLC), is about 70℃ or less.
- 11. For XLC(except -S) series: RCM is on a voluntary basis and meets relevant IEC or AS/NZS standards complying with AS/NZS 4417.1. For XLC-S series: RCM is on a voluntary basis. Non IC classification Independent LED control gear is not suitable for residential installations.

FAQ
Can I use the XLC-25-H-BN in LED downlights that need field-adjustable current without opening the fixture?
Yes. The XLC-25-H-BN uses NFC for current setting, so the output current (adjustable from 0.3A to 1.05A) can be changed via a smartphone NFC app without physical access to the dip switch. This is advantageous in recessed luminaires or hard-to-reach installations.
Is the XLC-25-H-BN suitable for dimmable LED signage in a retail environment?
Yes. The XLC-25-H-BN supports 3-in-1 dimming and is rated flicker-free, making it appropriate for illuminated signage in retail or commercial settings. The NFC current setting also allows output adjustment during commissioning without accessing the driver directly.
Can the XLC-25-H-BN drive architectural LED arrays where scene control is required?
Yes. With 3-in-1 dimming (0–10V, PWM, resistance), the XLC-25-H-BN integrates with standard scene controllers. Its 700mA constant current output across a 9–54V range covers most mid-power LED array configurations used in architectural cove and accent lighting.
How does NFC current setting on the XLC-25-H-BN differ from dip switch setting on the XLC-25-H-B?
The XLC-25-H-BN uses NFC to program the output current (0.3–1.05A) wirelessly via a compatible smartphone, while the XLC-25-H-B uses physical dip switches on the driver body. Both models are otherwise identical in wattage, voltage range, and dimming capability. NFC is preferred when physical access is restricted after installation.
How many LEDs can the XLC-25-H-BN support in a series string?
The XLC-25-H-BN regulates current across a 9–54V compliance range. The number of series LEDs depends on each LED's forward voltage; there is no fixed LED count applicable to all LED types. Match the total series string voltage to the 9–54V window.
Can the XLC-25-H-BN be used in outdoor or semi-outdoor signage enclosures?
The XLC-25-H-BN is rated for built-in use and has no listed IP rating beyond the driver itself, so it requires installation inside a suitably rated enclosure for any outdoor or wet-location application. Its -25°C to +85°C case temperature range supports cold-climate outdoor enclosures when properly housed.
