Overview
HLG-240H-12 is the 12V output model of this series: rated current 16A, rated power 192W, typical efficiency 90%.
HLG-240H series is a 240W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-240H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 93.5%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +90℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67/IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HLG-240H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Test conditions and notes14
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
- 3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 4. Please refer to "DRIVING METHODS OF LED MODULE".
- 5. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
- 6. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
- 7. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. Can I use the HLG-240H-12 to power long runs of 12V LED strip lighting outdoors?
Yes. The HLG-240H-12 outputs 12V at up to 16A (192W) with an IP67 waterproof rating, making it well suited for extended 12V LED strip runs on building facades, perimeter lighting, or landscape installations exposed to rain and moisture.
Is the HLG-240H-12 suitable for powering 12V LED signage or channel letters?
Yes. With 192W at 12V output and a wide 90-305VAC input range, the HLG-240H-12 can drive 12V LED sign modules, channel letters, or light boxes. The IP67 rating makes it safe for outdoor sign cabinets where condensation or water ingress is a concern.
Can the HLG-240H-12 power a 12V LED light bar array on a vehicle or boat?
The HLG-240H-12 accepts 90-305VAC mains power, so it is designed for fixed AC-powered installations rather than 12V DC vehicle or marine battery systems. It is suitable for powering 12V LED light bars in stationary applications like workshops, garages, or docks where mains power is available.
How many meters of 12V LED strip can the HLG-240H-12 support?
Divide 192W by your strip's rated power per meter. For example, a 12V strip drawing 14.4W/m could run about 13.3 meters (192W / 14.4W per meter). Always check your strip's rated power per meter and keep total load at or below 192W to avoid overloading the driver.
Can I install the HLG-240H-12 in an outdoor junction box exposed to rain?
Yes. The IP67 waterproof rating protects against dust and temporary water immersion. It can be mounted directly in outdoor enclosures, wet-location junction boxes, or even open-air mounting in rain-exposed locations.
What are the differences between the HLG-240H-12, 12A, 12AB, and 12B variants?
All four share the same 192W / 12V / 16A core specs and 244.2 x 68.0 x 38.8 mm dimensions. The base HLG-240H-12 has no adjustment or dimming and is IP67. The -12A adds a built-in potentiometer for output adjustment and is IP65. The -12AB adds both adjustment and 1-10V/PWM dimming input (IP65). The -12B adds dimming input only and retains IP67.
