Overview
ELG-100-48A is the 48V output model of this series: rated current 2A, typical efficiency 90%.
ELG-100 series is a 100W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. ELG-100 operates from 100~360VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 24V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 91%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +90℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67/IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. ELG-100 is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system

- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Please refer to "DRIVING METHODS OF LED MODULE". For DA-Type, Constant Current region is 60%~100% of maximum voltage under rated power delivery.
- 3. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
- 4. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 5. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
- 6. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
- 7. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. Can I use the ELG-100-48A to power 48V LED strip lighting in a commercial signage cabinet?
Yes. The ELG-100-48A outputs 48V at up to 2A (96W total), which suits 48V LED strip runs in enclosed signage cabinets. Its IP65 water-resistant rating also makes it suitable for cabinets exposed to occasional spray or washdown. Confirm your strip's rated wattage per meter does not exceed 96W in total.
Is the ELG-100-48A suitable for outdoor architectural LED installations?
The ELG-100-48A carries an IP65 water-resistant rating, so it withstands dust ingress and low-pressure water jets. It is appropriate for protected outdoor locations such as under eaves or inside weatherproof luminaire housings. For fully exposed outdoor use, the IP67-rated ELG-100-48B would be the better choice.
How much 48V LED strip can I run from the ELG-100-48A?
The ELG-100-48A delivers a maximum of 96W on 200–305VAC input (70W on 100–180VAC, e.g. 120VAC). Divide the wattage by your strip's rated watts per meter to get the maximum run length. For example, at 96W a 10 W/m strip could support up to 9.6 m from one driver. Always check your strip's rated power per meter and apply a 10–20% derating margin.
Can the ELG-100-48A drive 48V LED modules in retail display lighting?
Yes. The driver's 48V output and 96W capacity are well matched to 48V LED module arrays used in retail display or shelf lighting. The built-in potentiometer (voltage 43.2–52.8V, current 1–2A) allows fine-tuning of brightness levels without a separate dimmer for simple setups.
What is the operating temperature range of the ELG-100-48A, and can it run in unheated outdoor enclosures?
The ELG-100-48A is rated for a case temperature (Tcase) of -40°C to +90°C. It can operate in unheated outdoor enclosures in cold climates without issue. Ensure the enclosure allows adequate airflow, as the driver's output load must be derated at elevated temperatures.
How does the ELG-100-48A differ from other output voltages in the ELG-100 series?
The ELG-100 series covers output voltages of 24V (4A, 96W), 36V (2.66A, ~95.76W), 42V (2.28A, ~95.76W), 48V (2A, 96W), and 54V (1.78A, ~96.12W), all with adjustable-A variants at the same wattage. The ELG-100-48A is the 48V, 2A adjustable variant. Choose the voltage that matches your LED load's rated input voltage.
