Overview
HLG-80H-48AB is the 48V output model of this series: rated current 1.7A, rated power 81.6W, typical efficiency 91%.
HLG-80H series is a 80W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-80H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 91%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +80℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67/IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HLG-80H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Test conditions and notes14
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
- 3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 4. Please refer to "DRIVING METHODS OF LED MODULE".
- 5. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
- 6. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.

Can I use the HLG-80H-48AB to power 48V LED strip lighting in a covered outdoor setting?
Yes. The HLG-80H-48AB delivers 80W at 48V and has an IP65-rated metal housing designed for indoor and outdoor applications, so it suits covered patios, canopies, and soffits. For fully exposed rain locations, consider the IP67-rated HLG-80H-48B instead.
Is the HLG-80H-48AB a good fit for dimmable 48V LED signage?
Yes. It provides 80W at 48V with a built-in 3-in-1 dimming input (1-10V, PWM or resistance), so you can adjust sign brightness remotely or via a building management system with a compatible output. The built-in potentiometer also lets you fine-tune the output current (1.02-1.7A) to match your sign module string.
Can I dim 48V LED panel lights with the HLG-80H-48AB?
Yes. The AB suffix means this driver accepts external dimming signals (1-10V, PWM or resistance), making it well suited for 48V LED panels in offices or retail spaces where brightness control is needed. The constant-current region of 28.8-48V accommodates panels that operate below the nominal 48V.
How many meters of 48V LED strip can the HLG-80H-48AB power?
Divide 80W by your strip's rated power per meter. For example, a 48V strip drawing 8W/m would allow up to 10 meters (80W / 8W per meter = 10m). Always check your strip's rated power per meter and keep total load at or below 80W.
Can the HLG-80H-48AB handle dust and moisture in a semi-outdoor installation?
Yes. Its IP65-rated metal housing is designed for indoor and outdoor applications, which covers covered walkways, building facades under eaves, and damp industrial spaces. For direct sustained rain exposure, use the IP67-rated HLG-80H-48B.
What are the differences between the HLG-80H-48, 48A, 48AB, and 48B variants?
All four share the same 80W / 48V / 1.7A core specs. The base HLG-80H-48 has fixed output and IP67 rating. The -48A adds output voltage/current adjustment via potentiometers (IP65). The -48AB adds output current adjustment plus a 3-in-1 dimming input (IP65). The -48B offers the dimming input only and retains IP67.
