HLG-185H-48B is the 48V output model of this series: rated current 3.9A, rated power 187.2W, typical efficiency 94%.

HLG-185H series is a 185W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-185H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 94%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +90℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67/IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HLG-185H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Can I use the HLG-185H-48B with a 1-10V dimmer to control outdoor 48V LED lighting?

Yes. The HLG-185H-48B supports 1-10V, PWM and resistance dimming signals and has a metal housing with IP65/IP67 ingress protection designed for outdoor applications, making it a good fit for outdoor 48V LED installations that need dimming.

Is the HLG-185H-48B suitable for dimmable 48V LED signage mounted outdoors?

Divide 187.2W by the strip's rated power per meter. A 48V strip rated at 15W/m could run about 12.5 meters (187.2W / 15W per meter). Always verify your strip's rated power per meter and keep the total load at or below 187.2W.

Can the HLG-185H-48B handle installation in a flooded light well or underground vault?

The datasheet rates the HLG-185H series IP65/IP67 but does not specify a submersion depth or duration, so flooded light wells or underground vaults are not covered by the sheet. For wet locations, MEAN WELL offers waterproof M12/M15 connectors for the output cable and refers installers to the IP installation cautions in its user manual.
