HLG-185H-48 is the 48V output model of this series: rated current 3.9A, rated power 187.2W, typical efficiency 94%.

HLG-185H series is a 185W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-185H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 94%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +90℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67/IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HLG-185H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Can I use the HLG-185H-48 to power 48V LED strip lighting outdoors?

Yes. The HLG-185H-48 outputs 48V at up to 3.9A (187.2W), and its metal housing with IP65/IP67 ingress protection is designed for outdoor applications, making it well suited for outdoor 48V LED strip runs. Its -40°C to +90°C case temperature range (with derating at higher temperatures) handles harsh weather.

Is the HLG-185H-48 a good fit for 48V LED signage applications?

Yes. With 187.2W at 48V, this driver can power 48V channel letters, light boxes, or cabinet sign modules. The wide 90-305VAC input accepts most mains voltages, and the IP65/IP67-rated metal housing is designed for outdoor mounting.

Can the HLG-185H-48 drive 48V commercial or industrial LED fixtures?

Yes. The 187.2W output at 48V is sufficient for medium-power commercial fixtures such as high-bay pendants, linear troffers, or architectural cove lighting that run on a 48V bus. Its constant-current mode with a CC range of 24-48V also accommodates fixtures with varying forward voltages.

How many meters of 48V LED strip can the HLG-185H-48 power?

Divide 187.2W by your strip's rated power per meter. For example, a 48V strip drawing 14W/m could run about 13.4 meters (187.2W / 14W per meter). Always check your strip's rated power per meter and keep the total load at or below 187.2W.

Can the HLG-185H-48 be installed in locations exposed to rain or temporary flooding?

The HLG-185H series has a metal housing with IP65/IP67 ingress protection that the datasheet says suits outdoor applications, so rain-exposed outdoor mounting is covered, and waterproof connectors are available for the output cable. The sheet does not specify a submersion depth or duration, so it does not cover flooding.

What are the differences between the HLG-185H-48, 48A, 48AB, and 48B models?

All four share the same 187.2W / 48V / 3.9A core specs and 228 x 68 x 38.8 mm dimensions. The base HLG-185H-48 has fixed output. The -48A adds output voltage/current adjustment via built-in potentiometer. The -48AB adds both adjustment and 1-10V/PWM/resistance dimming. The -48B offers dimming input only, without the potentiometers.
