Overview
HLG-120H-48 is the 48V output model of this series: rated current 2.5A, rated power 120W, typical efficiency 93.5%.
HLG-120H series is a 120W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-120H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 93.5%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +80℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67/IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HLG-120H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Test conditions and notes15
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
- 3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 4. Please refer to "DRIVING METHODS OF LED MODULE".
- 5. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
- 6. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
- 7. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. Can I use the HLG-120H-48 to power 48V LED strip lighting outdoors?
Yes. The HLG-120H-48 outputs 48V at up to 2.5A (120W) and carries an IP67 waterproof rating, making it well suited for outdoor 48V LED strip installations exposed to rain, snow, or high humidity. Its metal housing and -40°C to +80°C case temperature (Tcase) rating handle harsh weather conditions.
Is the HLG-120H-48 suitable for powering 48V LED signage systems?
Yes. With 120W of output at 48V, it can drive 48V LED sign modules used in channel letters or light boxes. The wide 90-305VAC input accommodates varying mains voltages worldwide, and IP67 protection allows direct outdoor mounting near the sign without a separate enclosure.
Can I run 48V LED high-bay or warehouse lighting from the HLG-120H-48?
Yes, provided the total LED load stays within 120W. The HLG-120H-48 operates in constant-current mode with a CC voltage range of 24-48V, so it can accommodate fixtures that draw at different voltage levels within that range. Its IP67 rating also suits dusty or damp industrial environments.
How many meters of 48V LED strip can the HLG-120H-48 power?
That depends on the strip's rated power per meter. The HLG-120H-48 supplies up to 120W at 48V. For example, if your strip draws 10W/m, you could run up to 12 meters (120W / 10W per meter = 12m). Always check your strip's rated power per meter and keep total load at or below 120W.
Can the HLG-120H-48 be mounted outdoors without an additional weatherproof enclosure?
Yes. Its IP67 waterproof rating means the unit is protected against temporary submersion up to 1 meter of water. It can be mounted on exterior walls, poles, or in open areas exposed to rain without needing a secondary enclosure.
What are the differences between the HLG-120H-48, 48A, 48AB, and 48B models?
All four share the same 120W / 48V / 2.5A core specs. The base HLG-120H-48 has no output adjustment and is IP67 waterproof. The -48A adds output voltage/current adjustment via built-in potentiometer and is IP65. The -48AB adds both adjustment and 1-10V/PWM dimming input (IP65). The -48B adds dimming input only and retains IP67.
