HLG-80H-24AB is the 24V output model of this series: rated current 3.4A, rated power 81.6W, typical efficiency 90.5%.

HLG-80H series is a 80W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-80H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 91%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +80℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67/IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HLG-80H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Test conditions and notes14

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.

Can I use the HLG-80H-24AB to power 24V LED strip lighting in a covered outdoor patio?

Yes. The HLG-80H-24AB delivers 24V at up to 3.4A (80W) and has an IP65-rated metal housing designed for indoor and outdoor applications, so it suits sheltered outdoor locations like covered patios, pergolas, and soffits. For fully rain-exposed installations, consider the IP67-rated HLG-80H-24B instead.

Is the HLG-80H-24AB a good fit for dimmable 24V LED signage?

Yes. It provides 80W at 24V with a built-in 3-in-1 dimming input (1-10V, PWM or resistance), so you can use an external dimmer to adjust sign brightness throughout the day. The built-in potentiometer also lets you fine-tune the output current (2.04-3.4A) to match your specific LED module string.

Can the HLG-80H-24AB power 24V under-cabinet LED strips with a dimmer?

Yes. The built-in dimming input accepts 1-10V, PWM or resistance signals, letting you adjust brightness for under-cabinet or task lighting. At 80W and 24V, it can drive a reasonable run of 24V LED strip as long as the total load stays at or below 80W. The current potentiometer provides additional fine-tuning of output level.

How many meters of 24V LED strip can the HLG-80H-24AB drive?

That depends on your strip's rated power per meter. The HLG-80H-24AB supplies up to 80W at 24V. For example, if your strip draws 14.4W/m, you could run up to about 5.5 meters (80W / 14.4W per meter ≈ 5.5m). Always check your strip's rated power per meter and keep total load at or below 80W.

Can I install the HLG-80H-24AB outdoors where it may get splashed but not submerged?

Yes. Its IP65-rated metal housing is designed for indoor and outdoor applications, which covers rain-sheltered outdoor areas, covered walkways, and locations with occasional splashing. For direct rain exposure, use an IP67 model like the HLG-80H-24B.

What are the differences between the HLG-80H-24, 24A, 24AB, and 24B models?

All four share the same 80W / 24V / 3.4A core specs. The base HLG-80H-24 has fixed output and IP67 rating. The -24A adds potentiometers for output voltage/current adjustment (IP65). The -24AB combines output current adjustment with a 3-in-1 dimming input (IP65). The -24B offers the dimming input only and retains IP67.
