HLG-80H-12AB is the 12V output model of this series: rated current 5A, rated power 60W, typical efficiency 88%.

HLG-80H series is a 80W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-80H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 91%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +80℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67/IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HLG-80H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Test conditions and notes14

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.

Can I use the HLG-80H-12AB for a dimmable 12V LED under-counter lighting project?

Yes. The HLG-80H-12AB delivers 60W at 12V and includes both a 3-in-1 dimming input (1-10VDC, 10V PWM or resistance) and a built-in potentiometer for output current adjustment. You can connect it to a wall-mounted 1-10V dimmer for smooth brightness control over kitchen or bar under-counter LED strips.

Is the HLG-80H-12AB a good fit for dimmable 12V LED strip in a commercial display?

How many meters of 12V LED strip can the HLG-80H-12AB drive?

Divide 60W by your strip's rated wattage per meter. For example, at 12W/m you can run 5 meters (60W / 12W per meter = 5m). At 7.2W/m, you could run about 8.3 meters. Always check your specific strip's rated power per meter and keep total load at or below 60W.

Can the HLG-80H-12AB be used in a covered outdoor awning installation?

Yes. Its IP65-rated metal housing is designed for both indoor and outdoor applications, making it suitable for covered awnings, soffits, and similar sheltered outdoor locations. For installations exposed to direct rain, an IP67-rated model such as the HLG-80H-12B would be a better fit.
